Falkensteiner Hotel & Spa Iadera – The Leading Hotels of the World *****

Hotel Falkensteiner Hotel & Spa Iadera – The Leading Hotels of the World *****

Reception and welcome We arrived late at night and there was a boy who I think hadn´t ever checked in guests before, but he was so nice and friendly and you could see he tried so much. The reception was nice and simple, very Mediterranean.
Welcome drink Didn´t have any because it was too late. But when the next day we changed the rooms, we told that we didn´t have any welcome drinks when we arrived, so they quickly gave us our sparkling wines. 🙂 It was very nice.
Free upgrade No, asked too.
Valet and parking Yes and I don´t remember if the parking was free, but it was in a garage.
Concierge Yes.

Sparkling wine Yes, and lots of it.
Hot meal Yes.
In general Breakfast was so good, variety of choices. The staff was so sweet, but only some of them. The other ones were so slow. Asked for coffee and it took like about 20 minutes to get it. But then again there was this really sweet woman who always brought sparkling wine to us to the table.

The room

In general From the pictures the rooms didn´t look that nice, the design was weird. But in reality, it was quite nice, the tiles were so clean and even shined, the cloth that separated bathroom from the bedroom was clean too and didn´t look that awful. I like that the bathroom is open to the bedroom, but my parents hate that. But yes, the bathroom was like a part of the bedroom. Luckily the toilet was in a separated room, at first I thought it was a closet. 🙂

The balcony was great, if it would have more comfortable chair, I´d like it even more.

I liked the beds, they were soft and I liked the view too. From my parents´ room the view was exactly to the sea, so ask for the best view, you can!

It also had a view to the nudist area, yes when you go to spa-s outdoor pool, you have to be naked! So my parents had an interesting view from their room.

Room type Double rooms seaside:http://www.falkensteiner.com/en/hotel/iadera/rooms#site
Surprise in the room Complimentary water and in the evenings with the turndown service there were chocolates too. 🙂
iPhone dock No. Weird, ha? This kind of resort should have these kinds of things.
Blanket and the blanket case Yes and a very comfortable bed!
Carped Nope, or I just don´t remember.
Amenities and bathroom Yes. Bathroom is pretty open to the bedroom, so you don’t really have a bathroom.
Shower curtain? Nope, beautiful and very amazingly clean glass walls and door.
Are the TV speakers in the bathroom too? You can hear it from the room.
Bath salt and bath No but bath there was.
Slippers and robe Yes.I loved that they had flip-flops and a little bag for the stuff you could take to the poolside. So cute!
Free WI-FI Yes.
Air conditioning Yes.

Hotel area (spa, dinner etc)

Hotel was OK. The area was big and you could walk around. The hotel is in a private area, there is one hotel more and residences too. There are two restaurants where you can be taken by a golf cart, because they are a bit far from the hotel. The restaurants belong to the resort too. I like the spa, it is beautiful, but I hate that you have to be naked there. I don’t like to expose myself to strangers. Then again, it´s cool that there is that kind of an area.

Dinner is nice, it´s a la carte, there´s also every night live entertainment, that is nice, because you can´t really walk to Zadar for some entertainment.

The food itself is good, though I liked entrees much better that main courses.

Pools are good, the water is so warm. Also there are I think 3 pools outside, so you can choose where to stay, you don´t have to fight for the sunbeds every morning.

I didn’t like the corridors, way weird, for example there are these clicking noises all the time and the carpet itself, blue and tired. Kind of ugly, also, what is up with the lamps in the corridor?

Location                     Very far from Zadar but hotel area is big.

I visited                      2-7th of July 2014.

Would I go again?      No, it didn’t really leave me an impression. I can´t really put my finger on it, what was it that I didn´t like that much.

Value of money          Hmm, I think it´s OK, with HB we paid about 1400 euros for one room.

Purpose of the trip      Vacation.

Nights                         5 nights.

Luxury 7 out of 10. There was something off.
Drive through 10 out of 10. Please, what more do you want for one night?

  1. I’m kind of suprised that you did not like the hotel that much. I’ve been to the other Falkensteiner Leading Hotel (Velden in Austria) and it was really, really amazing. I’ve heard many good things about the property in Zadar, too. I’m planning on visiting the Iadera location soon, so I’ll have a look by myself. Thanks for the interesting insight though 🙂

    • Cool that you’re going there! When?
But yes, there was something off, may-be it didn’t have that luxury element or that feeling? Or may-be we are so used to this hotel Kempinski Palace Portorož, that we used to visit every summer? This hotel had this very special luxury element, especially the breakfast. I’ll write about it soon.
Or may-be the hotel was too big and every step hadn’t been thought through? I really don’t know. I can’t wait for your thoughts on the hotel! 🙂
