Hotel Esplanade Zagreb *****
Reception and welcome: Reception was very nice and grandiose, welcome was quite friendly too.
Welcome drink: I saw that there was a table with bottle of sparkling wine and glasses but no one offered anything to us.
Free upgrade: Yes, the guy was really cool and upgraded one room to junior suite. 🙂 🙂
Valet and parking: Yes and yes, very professional.
Sparkling wine: Yes!
Hot meal: Yes, plus you could order from the a la carte menu as well.
In general: They gave us the worst table ever and the service was a bit slow, but I think it was because at the same time we were in the hotel, there was a wedding too and probably the hotel was full because of it, therefore the slow sevice. In general, the breakfast hall was very beautiful and the variety of food was quite good too.
In general: The rooms were big and high, especially the junior suite, superior room was quite big and roomy too. I should not complain, but the hotel had this dated look and it was not what we expected, but I cannot say that it was bad, just a bit old, then again, the furniture was in great condition, including the service.
Room type: Superior room – http://www.esplanade.hr/en/superior-room.html and Junior suite (I did not find a suite with that name from the hotel website, so I’ll put another suite’s link here) – http://www.esplanade.hr/en/deluxe-suite.html
Surprise in the room: Yes, candy in the bed after the afternoon service.
iPhone dock: No.
Blanket and the blanket case: Yes and yes.
Carped: Yes, fully carpeted.
Amenities and bathroom: Good, L’Occitane cosmetics. Bathroom was quite nice, clean, big and light.
Shower curtain? No, nice walk-in shower.
Are the TV speakers in the bathroom too? Yes or at least I think there were.
Bath salt and bath: Yes and yes.
Slippers and robe: Yes and yes.
Free WI-FI: Yes.
Air conditioning: Yes.
Afternoon service: Yes.
Hotel area (spa, dinner etc)
Hotel itself looked so grandiose, very nice reception area, we did go to the bar and to the lounge and I must say that the service and atmosphere was great. The building alone looked amazing and very beautiful!
Location: Just in the center, perfect location.
I visited: July 2016.
Would I go again? I think I would, but it was a bit dated.
Value of money: Quite OK.
Purpose of the trip: Vacation.
Nights: 1 night.
Luxury: 8 out of 10, it would be 10, if the rooms looked more fresh.
Drive through: 10 out of 10.
