Hotel The Quinta Avenida hotel *****
With this hotel, please keep in mind, that this is Havana, Cuba, therefore the hotel was slightly more tired and old.
Reception and welcome: The reception was quite nice and welcome was very friendly. We arrived on the 24th of December, so it was Christmas Eve. We had previously booked a restaurant in Havana, but we didn’t have any response from them. To our surprise, the hotel told that they have Christmas Eve dinner at the hotel with entertainment included in the price, with lots of food and wine. So it was a really pleasant surprise.
Welcome drink: No.
Free upgrade: No.
Valet and parking: I don’t know, we were with transfer.
Sparkling wine: The next morning after Christmas, they served sparkling wine, because of the holidays, the day after that they didn’t offer any.
Hot meal: Yes.
In general: Well, there was a variety of choices, but the breakfast hall in general was not a five-star hotel’s hall. But this is Cuba, so we took it as it was. The service is very nice.
In general: Well, again, have to keep in mind, that this is Cuba. The rooms were quite dirty and the corridor smelled like pee. I even wore slippers when I went to shower, so you can imagine. So I don’t know, I wouldn’t go back there. One room had balcony too.

Hotel area (spa, dinner etc)
Well, the hotel was very old and tired, you can see that everything is done over the feet and sloppily. People are nice though.
The Christmas dinner was very nice, so much food (it was a buffet), welcome sparkling wine and since there were five of us, we had two bottles of wine on the table as well. There was also entertainment program, which was cool. We were quite pleased with the dinner.
Hotel area… the spa area outside was so tired and old. The water was cold in the pool.
Location: I thought it was a bit far, had to take a taxi and it was about 15 minutes to Havana centre with a taxi.
I visited: December 2015.
Would I go again? No.
Value of money: It was okay, especially during Christmas time.
Purpose of the trip: Vacation.
Nights: 2 nights.
Luxury: 4 out of 10. But one has to keep in mind, that hotels are like that in Cuba.
Drive through: 4 out of 10.
